practice, traditional temple-style meals, text printing
from wood blocks, lotus lantern making, and a temple tour
(please find details below).

the minimum of 5. The participation fee in the basic program
is 20,000 Won per person. |

| • Non-regular
program |
A non-regular program can be organized on the first
and third Saturdays of every month. This program, for
a group of 5 persons or more, needs a 5-day advance booking.

- Tea Ceremony
The drinking of tea prepared from leaves with a traditional
tea set is similar to sitting in Seon, meditation. We
often say "Daseon Limi" and this means that
tea drinking and Seon practice have the same taste.
- Seon or Meditation
Seon is considered to be the main method for searching
for our True Nature. This practice constitutes the core
of the Korean Buddhist tradition.
- Barwoo Gongyang or Traditional Temple Meal
"Barwoo" means the "bowls appropriate
for the quantity." "Gongyang"refers to
the "temple meals." The four-bowl meal is
the traditional way of taking food for monks and nuns.
It simplifies the process and also adds a meditation-like
quality to the daily meals.
- Text Printing
The Buddha's teachingsare collected in texts which were
traditionally printed using wood blocks. During the
program, there will be a chance for each participant
to print his or her own text on traditional paper.
- Lotus Lantern Making
Lighting a lantern stands for the wishes that the wisdom,
loving-kindness, and compassion of the Buddha may spread
and illuminate the whole world it also represents the
wisher's own intention to live like a lantern. The participants
may make a lotus lantern each. |
